Leadership

  • Very few have ever had more experience and success at the highest levels of the U.S. government and American politics than Steve Ricchetti. As Senior Advisor and Strategist to 3 American presidents - most recently Counselor to President Biden and Chairman of his historic 2020 campaign - Steve, alongside the President, was an architect of one of the most successful legislative records of any president in US history. The key leader of the administration’s strategy, he played a pivotal role as lead negotiator in securing passage of the bipartisan $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act—the largest climate investment bill in history, and in navigating the 2023 debt-ceiling crisis to prevent an existential threat to the global economy.

Known for his bipartisan deal-making and behind-the-scenes influence, Ricchetti has shaped policy and negotiations at the highest levels of government for three decades. He previously served as Chief of Staff and Counselor to Vice President Biden (2012–2017), running the Vice President’s office and serving as an Assistant to the President for President Barack Obama.

Prior to that, under President Bill Clinton, he served as Deputy White House Chief of Staff (1999–2001) and earlier as his top Senate Legislative Liaison (1993–1996), helping pass landmark legislation like the Economic Recovery Act of 1993, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, UN Arrears (1999), and Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China in 2000. He was additionally a principal in White House national security deliberations.

In the 1992 election cycle, as executive director, he led the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee to record breaking results and a 57 seat Democratic majority.

After Clinton’s term, Ricchetti took his government experience to the private sector, founding Ricchetti, Inc. As President of Ricchetti, Inc., one of the most successful boutique public affairs firms in Washington, he advised major corporations in every sector of the economy on how to navigate regulatory and legislative landscapes. Ricchetti reentered public service, joining the Obama Administration as Counselor to the Vice President. With a reputation for strategic acumen and legislative expertise, Ricchetti remains a powerful force in politics and governance.

  • A seasoned political aide and national security practitioner, Danny most recently served as the Deputy Special Representative for City and State Diplomacy for the U.S. Department of State. In that role, he led the Department’s engagement with mayors, governors, and other municipal officials to strengthen local government engagement on the international stage. His previous roles at the Department of State included serving as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs and as a Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security.

Prior to joining the Department, Danny served on the Democratic staff of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Danny is a Term Member on the Council on Foreign Relations, a Commissioner for Arlington’s Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families, sits on the Advisory Board of William and Mary’s Washington Center, and is a Political Partner with the Truman National Security Project.

Danny holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and B.A. in History and Government from William and Mary.
